Many from Maryland travelled through West Virginia and the adjoining Virginia counties. I searched the tax lists in those counties but did not go past about 1820. The only Carr I found in Virginia was Littleberry Carr in Isle of Wight County in 1820. (Note that the tax lists have many more families than are in the census).
