Albeit I haven't undergone a DNA analysis, I can share the following.

"Roberts" is my blood line, and has been determined to be of Mediterranean, Red Sea origin. In addition, during a 2001 blood donation to my father-in-law in San Juan, PR, it was determined we were of the same or very close blood-line.

I would believe it to be completely logical that numerous VA/NC/SC/LA lines have the same Spanish/Moorish lineage; largely, due to free-will migration and forced importation from the West Indies.
