My African-American ancestors also had ties to Clinton Co., IL. I'm particularly interested in Francis Marion Loggins and wife Cynthia Cox who with their children emigrated to Liberia. They were in Williamson Co., IL in 1850 and in Walker Co., GA in 1840 with my ggg grandmother Nancy Bryant and her children, living in Union Co., IL in 1850 and listed as mulatto. Next door is Sophia Traxler who is in Clinton Co. IL in 1860 (as Sophia Truxler). My gg grandfather passed as white and went to SE MO about 1870.

I think Cynthia Cox's mother Susannah Cox was a sister to my Nancy Bryant.
