AfriGeneas Free Persons of Color Forum
I have had a very eye opening experience. I was notified last week that a cousin that I shared genealogy info with has retained ProGenealogists which is the company advertised on Ancestry.com.
I contacted them regarding their use of the information provided by my cousin and asked how they handled information that she supplied to them that was acquired from other family members who did not authorize the use of the information outside of the family.
You guessed it. They could care less. Just posting this to make folks aware of their stand on ANY information that is gathered by them. My question to them was if they would retain the information given to them by their clients in their archives and would they sell the information.
They basically told me I need to deal with my cousin and sent me their Terms of Service. I am posting the Terms of Service link here.
