I was so excited to find this thread. I have been researching my Harris Heritage and had reached a dead end. I remember some family members had mentioned that our ancestors came from Virginia. The last name that I reached was Jaramiah (Jeremiah, Jereimiah) Harriss (Harris, Harice) born 1806. He is listed on the in 1851 Canada West census. It would be so wonderful if I could find his parents. Jeremiah lists James and Francis (male) as his sons on the 1861 canada census. If I could just get a connection to his family in VA, it would be wonderful.
