Plenty of proof actually...
There is a baptismal record for Louise Tauriac dated on the 16th March 1831. She is stated as being the illegitimate daughter of Eloise Meullion.
The godmother was Hyacinthe Tauriac, widow of Louis Tauriac. In 1851, when my ggg grandparents, Julie Birotte, and Theophile LaChaplle were married, Eloise Tuariac signed as a witness to their wedding along with Simeon Birotte and Jean-Baptiste Defils. Louise Tuariac later married Ludger Birotte on the 6th of June 1853. Ludger was Julie's half-brother. So that evidence linking Louise Tauriac to Eloise Meullion. Now, Julie Birotte was her daughter because when she got married her mother signed her name on the bond giving permission for her daughter to marry Theophile. By then, her mom was with Francois Birotte, widow of Marie Eloise Guillory[who died years ago]. Both of the kids were under 18 at the time of the marriage. That's why Eloise had to sign her name. In the 1850 census, that is Jean Chevis and Julie Birotte living with Eloise Meullion[their mom].
Also, Pauline Chretien is living next door with her husband Jean-Baptiste Defils. And far as linking Pauline with Eloise Meullion..that's easy. When she was married to Jean-Baptiste Defils on the 29 Aug 1855, she listed her parents as being Cadet Chretien and Eloise Meullion. So, Eloise was quite busy. Also, in the later years, Louise Tauriac is living not too far from her brother, John Chevis. Got plenty of documents to back this up. So Julie, Loise, and Jean Baptiste "John" Chevis were siblings.
