There is a Canadian forum on the Afrigeneas website too, and the hostess of the forum, Lisa Lee, is extremely helpful and informative. A friend of mine is a direct descendant of the Parker family that were living in Pennsylvania in 1860 and fled to the black settlement, Buxton, in the Ontario province of Canada and thereafter appeared on the Canadian census, which is in odd years (1861, 1871, 1881, etc). Lisa Lee helped locate them on the Canadian census. Good luck with your research.
