Even though I am not a Hiram Revels descendent. I enjoyed reading this thread.
From what I've read from other boards. Hiram Revels parents ancestry is a mystery.
Some say there were 2 Hiram Revels- One is the senator the other his nephew.
Others say his mother was White while his father was Black and white or Black and Native American.
Others say his mother was Black while his father was White and Native American.
Some suggest Elijah Revels and Phoebe are considered to be his biological parents.

Just thought I'd share.
