Hi Art,
I have had this book since it was published. Many of the names in the book especially from the Gates County area remained in the area and the families are there today. By the Gates County area I mean, those counties of eastern NC and VA that border the Virginia and North Carolina state line. Some of those names are the Boones, Reids, etc.

These are my husband's family names. If anyone is interested, there will be a huge reunion in 2012 that will hopefully bring many of these families together. The name of the reunion is the Skeetertown Reunion which will be held in Suffolk formerly Nansemond County, VA. The date will be Memorial Day Weekend. Some additional names involved in the reunion will be Faulk, Copeland, Howell, Skeeter, Milteer, Hall, Jones, Langston. These are the ones that I can remember of the top of my head. Most were FPOC.

If anyone thinks they are connected to these families or to this area, I suggest you try to attend. The Chairman of the reunion is Eric Turner.
