Carmen does have a point that new researchers should consider. Older researchers have a better understanding of the difference between the 2 terms. It's surprising to me how many of the black community who are not doing research think that most Blacks were slaves. They are not familiar with that fact that some were indentures and that some were brought to American as free persons.
