Re: "Free" vs. "Freed".
In Response To: Re: "Free" vs. "Freed". ()

HI Paul.
The time frame that I am speaking about is way before America was colonized by Europeans. I have learned that the southern Chinese visited American way before the northern Chinese who crossed the Bering Strait. I'm talking about the Natives from Mexico and Cental and South America who migrated to North American prior to the 1500s. And the natives that were seen in Fl and the southwest such as the ones who traveled with Cortez.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's about time that someone acknowledged that America was not discovered by Europeans and the First People were here long before. What their genetic mix was is not known. I used the word genetic, but the term race is a relatively new designation.

I am not as much concerned with information stipulated by colonial Americans, etc. as to the ethnicity of a person or persons. Also, I have known for a long time, that some census takers never met the people they enumerated. They, at times, consulted neighbors just as they stationed themselves in taverns and counted the people who frequented them.

Linda
