I found Horatio Weaver working as a farm laborer for H. c. Lassiter on the 1860 US Census. Missouri was unnamed on the 1860 slave schedule. They left the farm together after she was emancipated. They remained in Hertford Co. Where their first child was born in 1869. Eight other children were born in NC. He later appears on 1900 Census living with 3 youngest children in Southampton Co. VA. He is listed as a widower. I cannot locate her death record in NC. He would have followed his children to VA maybe after her death. I am also looking for her NC grave site.
Also wondering if maybe he was already married so couldn't marry her as he was much older than her.
