Did their marriage take place in NC? I'm only doing lookups within my own database of free people of color in antebellum NC. I do not have access to other states.

If you are looking in NC, you won't find a marriage bond for them most likely. Maybe cohabitation, but unlikely. If Lassiter was born 1854, they probably would not have married until the 1870s and by the time, if they were married they would have an actual marriage license rather than cohabitation or marriage bond.

Also, when I said I could do look ups, I meant I could look within my own database and that marriage is not in the database.
