Paul, thank you for pointing me in a meaningful direction. I have had several changes in my life. My husband and I have retired, relocated and have finally settled in Virginia. Hence, my absence from the Forum. For me it is like coming full circle, back to the state where the Asher family is first recorded. I now have more time to devote to my quest to ascertain as much information as possible to complete a written narrative of my family in this country. I look forward to sharing any resources I locate in the hope that they might be helpful to other VA folks in search of their roots.
