Those Cherokee Applications are great genealogy documents to find if you are fortunate enough to have had someone who applied. I've read quite a few of them at footnote.com for some research I was doing. From what I could see almost all of the people of color who applied for enrollment, were rejected, but nonetheless the applications are often chock full of valuable genealogy information.
