After taking one of my long breaks of research, I am again looking for details into the Meullion name. My ggg grandfather was John Chevis living with his mother in 1850, Heloise Meullion and a sister Julie Birot. Although, the names are spelled incorrectly on the census, I know it is them because I know who they were. (if that makes any sense). What I cannot seem to find out is who was this Heloise (Eloise) Meullion born around 1800. Can you help? Julie was actually married to Ludger Birot and this i know for a fact but her name on documents are Eloise. we both know the women of that time named their daughters after themselves so why is she named Julie, I do not know.
