Abstract: Free born John Dungie, a waterman, has always sought to make himself useful. His wife, Lucy Ann, is the illegitimate daughter of the late Edmund Littlepay, "a highly respectable and wealthy Citizen." As an act of "Justice & attonement," Littlepay bequeathed Lucy Ann her freedom, and one thousand dollars. The couple asks that Lucy Ann be permitted to remain in the commonwealth.
