I have been researching the Robert Cole Grayson Co. VA line of Coles. My G-G-Grandfather Henry Cole, Robert's son stated his place of birth as Virginia. They came to Indiana/Illinois by way of Robertson Co. Tennesee. My G-Grandfather Isaac was under 10 yrs. old when his father passed and when he grew up, as head of household on the census, Isaac says that his father's birthplace was Tenn. Anyway it has caused some confusion among family members. Has this been a common occurence for descendants of FPOC?
