Looking for information on Louisa Copeland, mulatto, born circa 1800. She had a daughter named Mildred Copeland, also mulatto, b. around 1825. They were listed as living in Gates County, NC in the 1850 and 1860 census in the household of John Allen.
Their birthplace was listed as VA.

They seem to have popped up out of nowhere, and I'm trying to find more background on them.
