Re: Personal Library--Registers of FPOC's

Hi Doll,

What I have for AL & GA would be from Carter G. Woodson's 1830 works.

ALA = Frederick V. THOMAS, age between 55-100, 2 persons in the Household, Found in Perry County.

GA = F. HARRIS, age between 36-55, 4 Persons in Household, Found in Savannah, Oglethorpe Ward.

You know, I never really looked at these two states. Interesting findings, a fairly significant number of FPOC's in Mobile, AL and many with French sounding/spelling surnames. Could they originated in the Caribbean, Haiti
in particular?

For GA in Carroll County there are quite a few Native American names such as: Rattlesnake, Ekoah,
Watta, Tah ne cul le bee, Oulesawiuh and many, many more. Was this (1830) before the 'trail of tears'?

You got more questions than you did answers :-))

Art Thomas
