Ancestry has recently redone most of their census records with new transcribed indices, as they have been announcing these past few months. Some are better, some are worse. They had been making corrections in their index results from the submissions of users over the years, but from what I've seen, it seems that some of these latest results have gone back to the bad transcriptions they had previously.
