Hi - I am a descendant of an Eliza or Lizzie Copeland whose daughter Julie Jarrett claimed the mother of Eliza was of Pakistani origin. Theancestors were supposed to have come with the Copeland family through India and to have been indentured servants.

Eliza was supposed to have been the daughter of the plantation owner named William Copeland who was born North Carolina in the late 1700s. I know the white Copeland family was involved in the East India trading company from an early period and was wondering if anybody has any documents from them.

Eliza's daughter Julia looks very East Indian in her photograph though her British ancestry is also evident. One of Julia's daughters was named Iva or Eva which seems to have run in the Copeland family.
