Simpson's and Goe's in PA

Marlene,

You listed info on the Simpson's, Goe's, and Sorrell's. Thanks so much for the info. Although I can't figure it all out right now, I know someday it will be extremely valuable info for all of us researching the Simpson's, Goe, and Sorrell's.

Could you please help clarify a few things from your list for me?

1. You list:
James Simpson also served in the Civil War. He married Mary A. Lette. They had the following children:
Martha J., born July 18, 1856
Sarah E., born Sept. 13, 1858
John H., born Jan. 6, 1860
Charlotte, born Sept. 21, 1862
Annie F., born Mar. 12, 1865
Oliver C., born Dec. 25, 1866
Charlie, born Sept. 17, 1869
", born Apr. 21, 1854
", born Mar. 19, 1875
Martha J., Sarah E. and Charlotte were all married by Nov. 23, 1892. Mary and James married Apr. 24, 1854. After his death, Mary married a Fisher in 1875. James died June 16, 1869. His pension file states that William Simpson was a nephew of James.

I was thinking this was James, brother to Thomas, and son of Gilbert and Mary Ann, but the dates don’t agree with what you listed earlier in the message that James was born Sept. 10, 1866 (killed in coal mine). So, his birth would be after the birth of the James’ above first child.
Could you please help me figure out which James this is who married Mary A. Lette?

2. You also mentioned in the same message:
Another Civil War vet, Thomas Sorrell married (1st), Mary P. Brooks and (2nd), Mary Jane Simpson on Dec. 28, 1859. Thomas died Jan. 26, 1912. You further stated that this Mary Jane Simpson was the daughter of Charlotte Goe.

Could you help me figure out where this Mary Jane Simpson fits? Also, the Charlotte Goe?

I truly appreciate your information and all the work you've put into this labor of love.
