In 1870 I found one of my great uncles.

Frank Carroll in Queen Anne, Prince George Co, MD. He is listed as the head also, in the household are:

Hall, Lucy 74
Williams, Benj 12
Williams, James 20
Sprig, Elen 60
Sprig, Robert 21
Puddle, Thos 80

The Carrolls, Williams. Sprigs and Puddle/Toodle were all enslaved. Lucy Hall is a free woman of color I can track her in the census back to 1840.

I have been unable to find a death certificate for her. I'm not sure how I can determine if Lucy Hall was related to Frank Carroll.

In 1870 there are 2 other Lucy Halls. 75 year old Lucy living with Aaron White in South River, Anne Arundel. In Brighton Montgomery MD there is a 85 year old Lucy Hall living with James Hall.

The census were all done on different dates. I think these are all the same person. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
