In Response To: Southern Tea Cakes (Laveda Glover-McWillie)

1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups of flour or more
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix well sugar, margarine or butter. Add egg, vanilla, soda, cream of tartar; roll and cut. Bake in over at 350 degrees approximately 15-20 minutes.
