Mr. Mitchell had it going on with those pies. My former neighbor, made the best fried apple and peach pies in western Tennessee. They were just perfect! She also wrapped hers in waxed paper and sometimes sold them when they sold dinners for a special event. She taught me a lot of things, but I never asked her how to make those pies. Unfortunately, Ms. Mildred Walker passed away last year. I too can smell the armour, especially those peach ones!
