Floyd Mitchell - Altus Oklahoma
In Response To: Roll Call of Professional Cooks ()
My father-in-law Floyd Mitchell could make the best mouth waterng fried pies in the world. He would get up early in the morning, gather up all his ingredients which included peaches, apples, lemons and start making his dough. He would be through with everything aound 10 A.M. I would help by wrapping up the pies in wax paper and putting them in seperate boxes. By 11 A.M we would be at the Cotten Compress where the workers would literally run to get his pies. If I remember he sold them for about a quarter apiece.
