Re: Cornbread Dressing
In Response To: Re: Cornbread Dressing ()

I,m a little late on the dressing but here goes.MY MOTHERS DRESSING AND NOW MINE.Make your cornbread batter (please don,t use jiffy) when your batter is made up put 2 cups of celery,2cups of onions,2cups of green peppers for some reason i always call them mangos right into your batter.Put your sage in the batter salt and pepper right in the batter and just a little of your broth in the batter, mix well and taste it to make sure you have enough sage in it if not you can always add more when the corn bread gets done.Put the bread in the oven and when it gets done you have all of your dressing right there.Mash it up so it can be fine then taste it,if you don,t have enough sage you can add more. Take your broth that,s sitting on the stove and pour it into your dressing until it,s as moist as you want it.Put your Turkey or Chicken parts in the dressing and now it,s time for stuffing.I always cover my pan with al.foil and most of the time i never have to baste it unless i want to.
