I'm so excited about this forum! I really enjoy cooking; it's a great way to share and preserve heritage and culture. I'm really looking forward to sampling and enjoying delicious recipes!
My family has Bahamian roots and we love those Caribbean dishes! We were recently in Nassau for our family reunion. Last week I got the idea that I would relive the awesome time we had by preparing a Sunday dinner with a Bahamian theme. I served Fried Fish, Pigeon Peas & Rice, Coleslaw, Fried Plantains, and Iced Tea. I also made my first Coconut Tart for dessert. I'd tasted it for the first time at the reunion and one of my Bahamian cousins said that it's a staple everywhere, so I found a couple of recipes to try. Came out pretty good! ;-)
