Str's vs. Snp's
A gentleman on 23 and me informed me that African Ancestry was using Str's to determine ones haplogroup, thus ancestry. Not Snp's. I don't know the scientifical meanings behind those terms enough to understand how they are connecting people with more recent ancestry via haplogroups. They say their test was designed to trace from 500- 2,000 years back as opposed to the deep ancestry usually associated with haplogroups. Can anyone expound on AA's str test as oposed to say 23 and me? On str's vs. Snp's? They also do no autosomal testing!
