Hello Kathleen, Click the Paternal Line link under My Ancestry from the 23andme Home Page for your grandson to get an overview of his Haplogroup assignment. The Map, History, Haplogroup Tree & Community subsections will be very helpful. You should also develop an ancestor chart (family tree) for you grandson .... parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. using birth, marriage and death records for each individual as applicable. In particular you want to follow his HAYES paternal lines. Your focus will be on Tappahannock, VA which is in Essex County, VA, right?
