Pedigree Collapse in African's

I have read that our individual DNA tests represent about 1% of our total genetic makeup and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about "Pedigree Collapse" as it applies to the continent of Africa? I found these links and there is some discussion on other boards about this subject, I even saw it mentioned awhile back on this site. These are a few links that I have found and if you do a web search for "Pedigree Collapse" you will find many more.
