Nice to hear back from all of you with your different experiences with Ancestry by DNA. I have two biracial grandparents and my father's family is very creole so I was kind of surprised by the percentage ratios but pleasantly so. This test backed up what I received from DNA Tribes and I knew I had very strong, ancient links to Africa because of my haplogroup L1 subclade L1* pointing to nomadic southeast African cultures one of the longest continuing groups of people surviving today. It goes that to show that recent admixture is but a blip on the scale of our total DNA. In terms of others testing I feel it is a very delicate issue whether elders will want to participate in these types of tests and I honor their decision. I've cast a line to see who will have their DNA tested and so far there hasn't been much of a response apart from my brother which will be great because then I'll have a Mt and Y haplogroups to work with.
