Re: AncestrybyDNA 2.5 Results

Hi, I read your post and I too had a similiar experience(with the native American portion) After dilegent research I finally dispelled an age old family asumption that we were part Black Foot Indian. In fact my leneage on both sides has 0% Native American ancestery. The only Indian I found in my family was West Indian Jamaican. Nevertheless, the older folks in my family won't budge on it. They believe with all of their heart that we have "some indian" in our family bloodline despite DNA proof and a thorough research of our family history. After talking with other black families and individuals I am starting to believe that this claim of Native american descent is fairly common among most African Americans for whatever reason. I've always wondered though; how many Native Americans pass down claims of African American heritage to their children and grandchildren? (just a thought)
