Melvin, you are so right. I'm really happy my older son is excited. My younger son is too young (he's only 2) but I hope he shows a strong interest in our family's history.

All of my older relatives are dead. I have a lot of cousins, but with the exception of one older cousin, the only thing my cousins seem to care about is if we have anyone famous in our tree. Three of them have told me (and I quote): "If you find anyone famous in our tree, let us know." Otherwise, nobody cares. In fact, a few of them have been downright nasty. They don't want to share photos or much of anything else (even when I've offered to take care of copying and printing, travel costs, etc.). Oh well. I guess it's their loss. Anytime they want to change their mind, I'll be willing to share what I have.
