Re: Interpreting HVR1 & HVR2 reults

Hello Saudia,

I suggest that you put your markers in Mitosearch.org website. The database is a free one that let's you connect with others who have the same Haplogroup. I have also ordered the refined test and am anxious to receive that new information. I think services like Mitosearch will allow you to connect with "new" cousins who may have gotten separated by slavery.

By the way, I am also L3.

There are some ways to learn about the markers with the Family Tree DNA which might give you an African region, however, African Ancestry I think has refined that process of identifying that information for you better.

The FamilyTree DNA site does have some other features as well, so play around with the other features on their board. I have communicated with a few potential "cousins" and when I get the additional markers we might be able to tell more.
