What I know from the relation between the Tikar,the Bamileke and the Bamoun.
I am from Cameroon,besides the african languages I speak,I speak french,so my english is not very good,but I will do my best.
The Tikar were a very powerful people,they had a large population and sophistication in war,in their tradition,the males had to prove their power by conqueering new territories.
So,when in their history they had 3 princes too ambitious to accept that there will be only one of them succeeding to their father the king,two of them left and create 2 more powerful people,the bamileke and the bamoun.
The bamoun are known in africa as those who created an alphabet,and there is a museum in Foumban,Cameroon,that tells the history of the bamoun dynasty.
