Results from National Genographic Project

I just received the Mt DNA results from National Genographic. The results are L3.

I realize now that to interpret all of the sequences and markers will take some time, and I have put in information to upload to Family Tree DNA.

L3 is interesting as it is the East African Haplogroup. Now awaiting the results from African Ancestry on this same line to see how specific this test will be.

I noticed that someone did post that they had received an L3, and then received results from African Ancestry with specific information that was more recent and geographically pointing them to specific ancestry in West Africa.

Now I have two additional tests to undertake with male family members. My brother has agreed to take the same test through National Genographic, and a male cousin has agreed to take the African Ancestry test for another line.

Out of curiosity, have others done both tests, to find the broadly based Eastern Africa marker, with National Genographic (or Family Tree DNA) with the more specific West African geographic markers from African Ancestry?
