Re: East Asian Ancestry

Hi Even though my husband's family is from NC and or VA, I knew a Reed family while growing up in Fayette Co., PA. The oldest member of the family was named Archie Reed. He looked as if he was mixed race. He seemed to be around my grandfather's age which meant he was probably born in the 1890s or early 1900s.
My maternal Thomas line is from northern Va and moved to southwestern PA in the 1840s. I understand that they too spoke German. My maternal mtdna haplogroup is H3.
The maternal line of my husband's family is L3e3haplogroup . This is the line of family members that are associated with the surnames that I posted before. I have also heard that these families might be of Tuscarora descent.
