This is because this test is not on the Y-chromosome or mtDNA. It looks at ALL of your heritage. This test is useful for situations like yours where there is oral history of Native American ancestry, but it does not show up in the straight line testing of mother's line or father's line which as we know includes a fraction of your entire ancestry.

I have tested 4 lines, my four grandparents, and all 4 trace to Africa. But my DNAPrint results show 18% European, which jibes with oral history. The European ancestry we "know" of is on my father's maternal grandfather's side and we don't know anyone to test for that line.
