Haplogroup I (M170)
We had my brother's Y-chromosome DNA tested in the National Geographic Genographic Project and the results show him belonging to Haplogroup I (M170). This is non-African, based in southeast and central Europe and most common to the Balkans. There is a Celtic connection.
Now I KNOW that my father's people were Black slaves in Louisa County, Virginia. We are trying to figure this out. The only thing plausible is an M170 male having a male child with a slave woman and each generation after that producing a male child.
I feel the only path to take now is to search for matches in the US webs for Family Tree, etc.
