Hi Alice! The above statement that you made in your last post TOTALLY describes the attitude that my maternal family has in respect to their ancestry. I've always suspected that we were African/Black, even though it was never spoken of, and I was simply led by my curiosity about why my mom, several of my aunts, and my grandparents, were dark skinned (though not immediately distinguishable as definitely Black) to the point that I just couldn't bring myself to see them as Caucasian. Until just a few years ago, I was unsure of what exactly my maternal lineage was. My heart told me that we were Black, and then 23andme came along. My wife and I signed up a month ago, and my haplogroup results came in today!
So Alice, I'm proud to say that I am a L3d1-5 match with you
