Re: African Ancestry Strikes Yet Again
In Response To: Re: African Ancestry Strikes Yet Again ()
Hello Linda, Thanks for getting back to me. I guess our no-match on RF & FF indicates we're "cousin's of cousin's". There are eight (8) matches that appear on both listings with two (2) that seem to come from the RITF project on 23+me. One (1) of those matches has 2 other family members on the RF listing, but not the FF listing. I guess the differing threshold thing strikes again. For Alva .... You have the 2nd highest number of RF matches that I am aware of for a self-identified African ancestered testee, probably attributed to your very high percentage of European admixture. An FYI ..... As money permits and/or 'free' kits become available my plan is to test several of my great-grandchildren. So far all of my DNA testing has been geared toward possible connections to my ancestor's and their descendants, I would now like to see how this cousin thing relates to my descendants. They are 1st cousins genealogically, but their DNA will add 3 generations of DNA background to my DNA history. And we have to some degree a genealogy paper trail on them for their ancestral lines. Art
