DNA ~ Cousins & Genealogy

Hello All,

Since DNA testing with 23andme thru their Roots Into The Future (RITF) project and receiving my results I've been following their community message boards and also the responses to the project on FaceBook. I have also had DNA testing done by FTDNA & AncestryByDNA. The responses to the Relative Finder (23andme) & Family Finder (FTDNA) cousin matches are very interesting.

My observation of the discussions on these other venues, 23andme and FaceBook, is there seems to be a misunderstanding of cousin, family, ancestor, descendant and other relationships from a genealogical perspective.

Have any other DNA tested AfriGenean's noticed this apparent lack of a genealogical paper trail(s) by many of us AA's who tested with 23andme (RITF)? Or am I "misreading' the messages? If not, wouldn't AfriGeneas be the perfect place to get them started on learning how to match their DNA trail to a genealogical paper trail? And to better understand these relationships genealogically. Any ideas?
