I agree - Good move choosing your uncle. FYI 23&Me is still a place to take a look - perhaps until 12/25, but don't wait too long, you never know with them. I'm crossing my fingers on trying to get my paternal Gram's mtDNA via a surrogate. My side was Clora > Frances > Samuel so of course I didn't get his mtDNA

Hoping that my 20+ cousin will be interested. His line goes Clora > Lucy > Reather > Roseann > Sonya > CJ

If he is, it would be interesting to see if any common autosomal DNA has been preserved. Frances & Lucy were half-sisters, so they had ~25% shared DNA instead of 50%. Reather & Samuel would have ~12.5%. Roseann & I could have ~6.25%. Sonya & I could have ~3.12%, and CJ & I could share about 1.56%.

This would be a nice Christmas present. 8)
