Since the Bioko Island is not very big, how many Bupi's would you say were capture?

The Bupi's excluded capture but how did 'Our Ancestors' get captured?
From what I have read, the Bupi are subdivided into a number of tribes and subtribes that go back centuries.
Bupi's who immigrated to Bioko Island around the 13th century.
They were also enslaved by a continental Africa tribe, perhaps another Bantu enthic group who lived along the shores of West Africa.

Could some of us who share Bupi ancestry be related some how?

Did most of the Bupi's who were captured, come from one state or several?
My line is paternal and comes from the state of Virginia, Franklin County.
From the slave records that I have, my 3rd greatgrandfather was an only child, his mother died while he was young.

We have no information on his father.
I wonder if his father had more children?
