I took the ancestry by DNA 2.5 in the beginning of 2008. My admixture was 40% sub-saharan African, 36% European, 24% Native American, and 0% East Asian. My mother was also tested and she came out 72% sub-saharan African, 24% European, 3% East Asian, and 1% Native American. I have no family oral stories of a Native ancestor but my dad was originally from Venezuela. I also had my mt DNA and Y-DNA tested. The Mt-DNA was L1c1 and the Y-DNA was Elb1a, both of African origin. The mt-DNA did not surprise me since my mom if African American but the Y-DNA did.
