How far back is/are the Native American ancestor(s) thought to be? Remember that the percent is cut in half each generation you move forward from the 100% NA ancestor.

For example: One 100% Native American parent + one 0% parent = 50% for you.

One full-blood grandparent = 25% NA dna for you.

If it's one full-blood NA great-grandparent (you have eight), you inherit 1/8 or 12.5% NA dna.

If the one full-blood NA was your great-great-grandparent (you have 16), you would inherit 1/16 or 6.25% NA dna.

But if that ancestor was not full-blood NA, your percentage is reduced even further, and may be too small to show up in the tests.

Why not test your parents to see what their percentages are? Theirs should be higher than yours.
