Re: Haplogroup I
In Response To: Re: Haplogroup I ()

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the information. I was recently told by my brother that our Halogroup has changed from I to I1C. We tested 25 markers and they knew we had a match when they did the first 12 markers. But they did the other 13 because we had paid for 25. We matched 4 other families of West from NC, SC, LA and MS. We are from Sampson County, NC and there are some White West who owned some slaves, which we think were my gg grandmother, g grandfather, two other brothers and a sister. My g grandfather, Silas: his brother, Benjamin were enumerated next door to the slave owner Lloyd West b. 1799, according to the Census.

Now the White West descendants/in-laws in/from NC will not discuss the family with us. We are pretty sure these are our ancestor, no proof yet. If they would only talk to us, that would help a lot. They know something and don't want to tell us.

The other 3 new found cousins are White, very helpful and willing to help and we are talking and are from TX.

Thanks again for your information.
