I am also from the Tikar peoples. I found out July,2005. I am so glad to know where my maternal Ancestors come from.
I plan to go to Cameroon next year and meet them. I have already met an English speaking Cameroonian that is a Grad student in the U.S.
She will be going back home, in a few months.
She informed me that the Tikar are English speaking and are the minority of the minority groups, like her people.
Most people there speak French.
